Sandia DECA had an outstanding showing at the CDC Conference on March 3, 2026. The chapter was honored with the Chapter of the Year award, recognizing Sandia as the top DECA chapter in the state.
In addition to this top honor, Sandia DECA earned numerous chapter-wide recognitions. The chapter received Chapter of Distinction (Gold) status, was named the State Community Service Champion, and won the CTLP Social Media Challenge Champion award. Sandia also achieved Thrive Level recognition for both the Membership Campaign and Chapter Campaigns, demonstrating exceptional growth and engagement throughout the year.
The chapter was also proud to receive SBE Gold Recertification, further highlighting its commitment to excellence in school-based enterprise operations. At the conference, Sandia made history as the first-ever recipient of the annual Spirit Stick Award, celebrating the chapter’s energy, enthusiasm, and school spirit.
Individual achievements were also celebrated. Sandia is the home chapter of the State Member of the Year and the Outstanding Administrator Award recipient. Additionally, Sandia DECA member Darlene Dao was elected as the New Mexico DECA State Vice President of Marketing, representing the chapter at the state leadership level.
