The Sandia High School DECA program is dedicated to fostering community engagement and social responsibility among our members. We believe that active involvement in our community not only enriches the lives of those we serve but also develops valuable skills and experiences for our members. We understand that together, we can achieve more. The DECA program forms collaborative partnerships with local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and fellow educational institutions to create lasting change. These partnerships allow us to pool resources, share knowledge, and work towards common goals for the betterment of our community.
CONFERENCE
Finding Success at the NM DECA District 2 Awards Ceremony
Sandia DECA achieved remarkable success at the annual NM DECA District 2 Awards Ceremony held at Popejoy Hall on the UNM campus. With over 90 chapter members qualifying to advance to the state level and an impressive seven members scoring above 90% on their curriculum-qualifying exams, the chapter demonstrated exceptional proficiency. As a result, Sandia DECA stands as the second-most qualified chapter heading to the state competition.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Volunteering throughout the annual Doggie Dash and Dawdle
To kick off a jam-packed November, our vibrant chapter eagerly dedicated its efforts on Sunday, November 5, 2023, contributing wholeheartedly to the annual Doggie Dash and Dawdle taking place at Balloon Fiesta Park. Our members worked to boost morale, ensuring that competitors stayed hydrated, and went above and beyond to provide multifaceted support throughout the entire day.

On October 23, 2023, the Sandia High School DECA officers traveled with other leaders around the state to attend the New Mexico Fall Leadership Conference which took place at the Marriot Pyramid.

Sandia High School's DECA program was proudly represented at the Sandia High School Homecoming Club Fair on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. During this exciting event, our DECA team had the fantastic opportunity to engage with fellow students and their families to share the numerous benefits of joining our DECA program.
Our presence at the Homecoming Club Fair was not only about recruitment but also about sharing our passion for personal growth and community involvement. We look forward to welcoming new members to our DECA family and continuing to make a positive difference at Sandia High School and beyond.

The first program-wide DECA club meeting of the 2023 - 2024 school year.
The Sandia High School DECA program enthusiastically kicked off the school year with its inaugural meeting on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. It was an exciting and productive gathering that set the tone for an exceptional year ahead.
At this meeting, various activities such as meeting the leadership team, participating in team-building activities, and more took place. The meeting served as a launchpad for the DECA program's activities for the year. It marked the beginning of an exciting journey filled with opportunities for growth, leadership development, and community engagement.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
18 DECA members volunteer at the New Mexico State Fair.
This afternoon, September 9, 2023, the dedication and community spirit of our DECA members shone brightly as 18 of our enthusiastic students completed volunteer hours at the annual New Mexico State Fair. Their commitment to service and their dedication to enhancing the experience of every fairgoer they interacted with were truly commendable.
Our DECA volunteers brought their energy and positive attitude to the State Fair, making each interaction a memorable one. Their efforts went beyond expectations as they helped visitors navigate the fairgrounds, provided information about attractions, and ensured that everyone had a safe and enjoyable time.
